Mamie Alexander

Mamie A. Alexander is the founder of The Alexander Law Group, LLC. She concentrates her practice in personal injury, criminal defense, and business litigation. She is a fierce litigator, and has extensive civil and criminal litigation experience that has resulted in unprecedented verdicts and settlement

In addition to her complex litigation practice, Ms. Alexander has been selected to serve as an Administrative Law Judge, Arbitrator and Appeals Officer. However, her passion for the law is not limited to the courtroom. She has been an adjunct professor for over a decade, teaching courses in Criminal Law and Procedure, Negotiations, and Alternative Dispute Resolution at Loyola University.

Ms. Alexander was a partner at McCain, Webb & Alexander, P.C., where she developed a reputation for excellence in her current practice areas.  She was successful in providing high quality representation to individual, corporate and governmental clients in diverse litigation matters.

Prior to joining McCain, Webb & Alexander, Ms. Alexander worked for several years as a Senior Attorney for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). While representing the CTA in personal injury lawsuits, Ms. Alexander litigated hundreds of cases, including jury trials, arbitration hearings and mediations.  She became known for her outstanding record and sharp negotiation skills.

Ms. Alexander has also worked for the City of Chicago Law Department, and in the Legal Research Division of the Office of the Chief Judge of Cook County.  While working in the Office of the Chief Judge, Ms. Alexander researched unique legal issues and drafted court orders and memorandums for several esteemed judges.

Ms. Alexander is most comfortable in the courtroom, and it is a venue where she has shined. She has been designated a “NITA ADVOCATE” by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), a distinction reserved for highly trained advocates. Only a select group of attorneys in the nation have met the requirements to achieve this important distinction.

Ms. Alexander received her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was a Lincoln’s Scholar. She is committed to serving her community and has been a volunteer with the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services for over a decade. In 2018, due to her outstanding pro bono service throughout the years, Ms. Alexander was chosen to receive CVLS’ “Distinguished Service Award.”  She is an active member of her church, and serves as Chair of the Southeast Legal Clinic, which provides free legal services for low-income individuals in the community.

Ms. Alexander is frequently called upon to lecture at various seminars, trial skills workshops and law schools throughout the Chicago land area. She often volunteers as a tutor and mentor, and works with “Lawyers in the Community” to combat homelessness, poverty and truancy amongst children and young adults. She firmly believes that lawyers are called to be not only voices, but strong advocates for those who are unable (or unwilling) to speak for themselves.
